First Scrip Order for Disney!!!

The first Scrip order to help raise funds for your student's Disney 2012 trip is coming up VERY soon!   Please make sure you have your order to your school's Scrip Coordinator no later than 5 p.m on May 1.  Graduation is just around the corner, so why not give that special graduate a gift card from Scrip---it's a win/win situation!!  

And don't forget:  there will a new Scrip order on the 1st and 15th of each month from May through October.

Hello everyone,

In your Disney packets, you received instructions on how to participate in Kroger fundraising for our upcoming Disney trip in December.  Since that time, Kroger has announced a change in their Kroger Community Rewards program:

AS OF APRIL 1, 2012, every single Kroger Community Rewards Program participant must re-enroll
on the krogercommunityrewards.com website, even if you signed up/re-enrolled as recently as March 2012. 

This is a change on Kroger's end, not ours, and we apologize for any inconvenience it causes.   The directions in your packet explain how to sign up for the program.  To re-enroll, you just go back into your profile and select Dublin Music Boosters (81745) as your non-profit designee.   It can take up to 7 business days for your enrollment to take effect, so you will want to do this immediately.  You are successfully signed up as long as you see at the bottom of your cash register receipt:  2012-2013 Kroger Community Rewards.  You requested Kroger to donate to DUBLIN MUSIC BOOSTERS

Music Scholarship Fund Created

With the downturn in the economy in recent years, the DMB implemented two programs to help our families raise funds to offset the cost to participate in our music programs:  (1) Kroger Community Rewards and (2) Scrip.  Both programs have been a huge success for both our families and the DMB:  from May 2010 to April 2011, over $18,000.00 was raised!!

The DMB is now launching a scholarship fund for each high school using these two programs.  This is a scholarship fund to be used for current students with financial needs.  This is not a college-bound student scholarship fund. The scholarship funds will be run just like the Kroger and Scrip fundraisers are presently run, only instead of requesting that your own student receive the funds you earn, you will request that they go into the scholarship fund for your high school.  The funds for each scholarship will stay at the school you designate them to.

If you shop at Kroger and are not currently signed up to earn band camp funds, please contact the Kroger Fundraising Chairperson for instructions on how to sign up.

 

Marching Band Winds Up Season with a Sprint

Coffman Marching Band at OMEA StatesThe Dublin Coffman Marching Band is sprinting to the end of their 2011 season with a quick burst of contest, showcase and halftime performances.  On Saturday, October 22nd, the band travelled to Carroll, Ohio and competed in the Bloom Carroll Marching Band Classic, an OMEA (Ohio Music Education Association) Sponsored competition. The band received a First Place award in Class AA and Grand Champion for all classes. 

On Thursday, October 27th, the Dublin Coffman Marching Band travelled to Dublin Jerome High School and joined with Dublin Scioto and Dublin Jerome marching bands in the Dublin Marching Bands Showcase event.  This free concert provided the community an opportunity to see each band’s contest show.
